The role of the Assistant General Manager Finance is a critical position within the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and treasury functions.

Key responsibilities include managing project accounting, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and supporting business growth through strong financial governance and cost control.

This role involves leading the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as ensuring timely MIS reporting, variance analysis, and financial projections.

The incumbent will also monitor project-wise profitability and cash flow management, implement cost control measures to optimize project margins, and prepare annual budgets and forecasts in alignment with business objectives.

Other key responsibilities include supervising accounting for construction projects, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies, managing contract accounting, retention money, and escalation claims, and liaising with auditors, banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.

In addition, the incumbent will manage cash flow requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects, maintain relationships with banks for working capital, term loans, and BG/LC facilities, and monitor interest costs and optimize fund utilization.

Qualifications and experience required include a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA) qualification, at least 12-18 years of experience in finance and accounts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the construction/infrastructure/real estate industry, and hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems -SAP preferred.

Key skills and competencies required include strong knowledge of construction accounting standards, expertise in taxation, statutory compliances, and financial controls, proven ability to manage project costing, billing cycles, and subcontractor accounts, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Financial Management: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensure timely MIS reporting, variance analysis, and financial projections.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in alignment with business objectives, monitor actual performance against budgets and provide actionable insights.
  • Project Accounting & Control: Supervise accounting for construction projects, ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies, manage contract accounting, retention money, and escalation claims.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, liaison with auditors, banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities, implement and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Treasury & Fund Management: Manage cash flow requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects, maintain relationships with banks for working capital, term loans, and BG/LC facilities, monitor interest costs and optimize fund utilization.
