Backend Developer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to drive the analysis, design, and development of responsive web applications using best engineering practices.

The ideal candidate will have 5-12 years of experience in software development with a strong background in Java and related technologies such as Spring Boot, Micro Services, and Hibernate. You should be able to demonstrate good web fundamentals and HTTP protocol knowledge as well as solid understanding of distributed systems and scalable web application development.

You will be responsible for performing hands-on software development writing code and unit tests conducting code reviews and testing in ongoing sprints. Additionally you will perform ongoing refactoring of code and deliver continuous improvement manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills a good attitude and a willingness to learn and collaborate. Experience working with Java 11 and above Spring Boot Drop wizard and Node stack is a plus.

  • Serving as a core member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration designs and develops responsive web applications using best engineering practices
  • Performing hands-on software development typically spending most of time actually writing code and unit tests doing proof of concepts conducting code reviews and testing in ongoing sprints
  • Performing ongoing refactoring of code and delivering continuous improvement
  • Developing deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within supported domains
  • Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team

Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery environment Agile or SAFe development environment and Test Driven Development TDD Behavior Driven Development BDD practices is also required.
