Cyber Security Engineer Job Description

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and mitigating cybersecurity risks in our organization. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Rapidly identify and remediate web application vulnerabilities to minimize risk.
  • Onboard new web applications into our web-app vuln scan platform, utilizing expertise in Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) and Static Application Security Scanning (SAST).
  • Maintain the Vulnerability Management tools and infrastructures daily, ensuring optimal performance and effectiveness.
  • Scan web applications and servers for vulnerabilities, analyzing results to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with developer and application owners to remediate vulnerabilities and reduce risk.
  • Escalate priority vulnerabilities that aren't remediated in a timely fashion and record exceptions.
  • Support periodic web application penetration testing efforts and conduct security reviews with business personnel.
  • Provide monthly metrics of the Vulnerability Management Program, highlighting successes in reducing risk.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent cybersecurity experience.
  • Strong Vulnerability Management expertise and 2+ years of experience in web application vulnerability discovery, remediation, and scanning.
  • Expertise in vulnerability scanning tools, OWASP Top 10, and enterprise environments.
  • Incident response, vulnerability remediation, and coordination across teams are essential skills.
  • Knowledge of IT security policies, application/server/middleware security, and cloud vulnerability management.
  • Experience maintaining and maturing a Vulnerability Management Program.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Experience with Rapid7 InsightAppSec (IAS) or equivalent.
