Production Manager

The role of the production manager is pivotal in ensuring timely delivery of high-quality produce.

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to manage production activities, focusing on efficiency and productivity.
  • Closely collaborate with sales teams to analyze market trends and adjust production accordingly.
  • Nurture relationships with network farmers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and fostering growth.
  • Maintain strict compliance with company protocols while overseeing farming operations.
  • Directly oversee collection centers, coordinating the receipt, sorting, and storage of produce from network farmers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee overall production and operational management within the cluster.
  • Responsible for managing production planning, logistics, and customer delivery metrics within the cluster.
  • Work closely with the sales team to forecast market demands and plan production to meet continuous consumer supply needs.
  • Implement contracting farming activity with network farmers, adhering to Company standards.
  • Identify and mobilize suitable farmers, train, and guide them to adopt regenerative organic production methods as per UFCo protocols.
  • Monitor farming activities to ensure adherence to best practices and prevent chemical usage.
  • Manage collection center activities at each RAC – receiving vegetables from network farmers, sorting, grading, and storage.
  • Ensure quality control and coordinate with operations teams to supply produce to the Collection center/Distribution Centre.
  • Plan RAC level input production according to vegetable production plans.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to execute best practices in regenerative agriculture and provide feedback from the field to the technical Centre of Excellence.
  • Optimize costs and explore opportunities for expansion across multiple locations in the same region.
