Job Title: Security Engineering Specialist

Job Overview

This role is responsible for maintaining enterprise best practice configurations guidelines for web application firewalls (WAFs) across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain baseline WAF security rule sets based on industry standards and vendor best practices.
  • Develop and implement effective WAF security solutions to protect against common web-based attacks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity and development teams, to ensure seamless integration of WAF security solutions.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimize WAF security configurations.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies to ensure the organization's WAF security posture remains strong.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in network security and/or software development, with a focus on web application security.
  • Proven expertise in web application firewall (WAF) security, including configuration, implementation, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and experience with cloud security architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, protocols, and standards, including OWASP Top 10.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, such as containerization and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, including Python, Java, and C++.
  • Understanding of threat intelligence and incident response principles.
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems and log analysis tools.
