About This Role

We're seeking a seasoned Lead AI Engineer to spearhead the development of our next-generation consumer AI product.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient language models that generate safe, structured, and engaging interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficient LLM Pipeline Design: Create optimized pipelines for structured, interactive outputs.
  • Narrative/Interaction Flows: Develop branching narrative/interaction flows with deterministic continuation and constrained decoding.
  • Moderation and Safety Layers: Implement moderation and safety layers, including rule-based filters, toxicity detection, and external moderation APIs.
  • Content Filtering and Vocabulary Controls: Apply content filtering and vocabulary controls to ensure safe, compliant outputs.
  • Personalization and Progress Tracking: Implement heuristics-based personalization and progress tracking for adaptive experiences.
  • Offline-First Inference Optimization: Optimize models for offline-first inference with cloud fallback when needed.
  • Internal Tools Development: Build internal tools for prompt/template management, content testing, and moderation review.
Requirements:
  • AI/NLP Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in applied AI/NLP, with at least 3 years focused on LLMs or conversational AI.
  • Language Model Expertise: Strong background in language models: fine-tuning, LoRA, adapter methods, prompt engineering.
  • PyTorch Proficiency: Proficiency in PyTorch; experience serving models with FastAPI/Docker.
  • Edge Optimization: Experience with edge optimization: quantization, batching, caching.
  • Structured AI Outputs: Knowledge of structured AI outputs (JSON schemas, branching graphs).
  • Content Moderation Systems: Hands-on with content moderation systems and multi-layer safety approaches.
  • Privacy and Compliance: Understanding of privacy and compliance requirements for consumer AI apps.
