Lead Network Engineer

About the Job

The Network Operations team is responsible for managing and supporting the enterprise's network infrastructure.

This role involves operating enterprise level network solutions including routing and switching, SDWAN infrastructure.

A strong candidate will have excellent knowledge of routing protocols, experience with WAN Technologies, VPNs and network security fundamentals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage/operate enterprise level network solutions including routing and switching, SDWAN infrastructure.
  • Secure, monitor, operate and troubleshoot enterprise networks.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and ensure quick resolution of outages and performance degradations.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
  • Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring network uptime and reliability.
  • Document network configurations, diagrams, processes and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Work on incidents and provide timely resolution within SLA.
  • Perform network upgrades, patching and performance tuning.
Requirements

A successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or related field, with 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Network Routing and Switching, SD-WAN infrastructure.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science /IT or related field with 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Network Routing and Switching, SD-WAN infrastructure.
  • Manage and operate enterprise networks.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Experience with VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, ACLs, NAT.
  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN platforms (any of cisco Viptela, Aruba SilverPeak).
  • Experience with WAN Technologies, VPNs.
  • Understanding of network security fundamentals and segmentation.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
  • Familiarity with basic scripting or automation is a plus.
  • Experience with firewalls is an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications

CCNA (Routing and switching) and AASP-Aruba Accredited SD-WAN Professional/Cisco ENSDWI are preferred certifications for this role.
