Job Description

The ideal candidate will lead a technical team from a technical perspective, providing IT support for application environments and interfaces on-prem and cloud. This includes diagnosing, resolving, and analyzing issues, identifying workarounds, and documenting problem resolutions. The person will also ensure service requests are actioned according to service levels and performance targets.

Driving an automation-first culture and developing CI/CD pipelines is crucial to ensuring repeatability and resilience. Ensuring platforms conform to necessary HA, BC, and DR requirements and working with the DevOps team to deliver a resilient environment platform is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Focus: Operational support and continuous improvement of infrastructure estate and processes for Development and Test environments, up to and including Production.
  • Automation, process efficiency, and tooling utilization to reduce cycle times and improve reliability, audit, and traceability for all system deployments across multiple applications.
  • Consistently applying and improving process, best practice, and system build standards.

Operational Management:

  • Ensuring Production is managed, supported, and controlled with the appropriate level of governance and agility.
  • Protecting Production environments with good practice/process, design, and 'fit for purpose' environments, supporting all project and change activity.
  • Ensuring project and change releases are packaged to the right quality, repeatable between environments without change or modification, and deployed to target environments - ultimately to Production without detriment or issue in agreed timescales.

People Leadership:

  • Providing skilled, capable resources to Project/Change Leads suited to delivery. Managing gaps in skills or resource to reduce risk to Change, Projects, or the Business.
  • Managing a team of Test Environment Engineers & Middleware specialists and supporting environment management on non-prod environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 10+ years of IT experience in relevant technologies or engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects, services, and engineering teams working on Cloud (Azure), IaaS, PaaS, and other Infra Provisioning services.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, and/or equivalent work experience.
