Job Overview:

This role involves strategic product development, merchandising and sourcing to drive timely production.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing product development from concept to launch
  • Ensuring all stakeholders are aligned for successful delivery
  • Fostering strong relationships with suppliers and vendors for raw materials, trims and garment manufacturers
Product Lifecycle Management:
  • Developing and presenting pre-production samples
  • Monitoring and evaluating product performance in terms of fit, quality and durability, making necessary adjustments
  • Negotiating with suppliers on costing to achieve best pricing without compromising on quality and timelines
Sourcing and Procurement:
  • Creating bills of material for bulk orders and production runs
  • Identifying, developing and managing raw materials, trims and accessories
  • Ensuring all raw materials are planned, ordered and followed-up to avoid timeline surprises
Vendor Management:
  • Identifying and working with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and services
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production
  • Monitoring vendor performance and addressing any issues related to product quality, delivery or compliance
Quality Assurance:
  • Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to meet company standards and specifications
  • Conducting inspections and overseeing testing of materials and finished products to identify and resolve quality issues
Reporting and Coordination:
  • High-level coordination and collaboration with design, production, procurement and category teams
  • Maintaining detailed logs and updates for fabric, trims and accessories development and procurement, sampling and production status
Requirements:
  • 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising and production
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims and accessories and supplier base
  • Strong communication, relationship building and organization skills
