The Technical Buyer role involves coordinating the procurement of technical spare parts and services for our vessels. This position requires strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with Superintendents, suppliers, and vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Superintendents to ensure prompt supply of technical spare parts and ship repair jobs.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including logistics coordination to deliver spares to vessels.
  • Send enquiries to suppliers worldwide for quotations on annual/bi-annual/5 yearly/10 yearly services and technical spare parts.
  • Communicate with vessels to obtain required information for requisitions.
  • Follow up on quotations from suppliers.
  • Prepare purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, and packing lists.
  • Assist in logistics arrangements (air freight, sea freight, land transport, sea transport).
  • Liaise with agents and ships to supply spare parts and repair services at convenient ports.
  • Process invoices, verifying vendor invoices against quotations and ensuring timely processing within credit terms.
  • Document filing and printing of invoices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Superintendents.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical purchasing and spares stores services.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.
