- Strong proficiency in Ruby programming language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas.
- Familiarity with memory management, garbage collection tuning, and performance profiling.
- Experience with popular frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, ActiveModel validations, Engines, initializers, routing, and lifecycle callbacks.
- Comfortable deploying and optimizing web servers such as Passenger and Thin.
- Deeper understanding of thread versus process models, connection handling, worker tuning, and memory profiling.
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and its integration with ActiveRecord.
- Experience in optimizing database queries, indexing, and query plans.
- Proficient with Bundler, Rake, and RubyGems.
- Ability to create custom gems and publish them to a gem repository.
- Knowledge of environment managers like RVM, rbenv, and chruby.
