The successful candidate will lead the administration, optimization, and security of our Oracle database landscape. This role requires deep Oracle expertise, along with exposure to SAP Basis-related database administration to support SAP environments running on Oracle.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Oracle database technologies, high availability architecture, and hands-on experience with SAP-Oracle integration or collaboration with SAP Basis teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting multiple Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, 21c) in production, development, and QA environments.
  • Performing installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations (including platform and cross-version migrations).
  • Optimizing database performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and advanced tuning techniques.
  • Managing high availability and disaster recovery configurations using Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Implementing and testing robust backup/recovery strategies using RMAN and/or third-party tools.
  • Automating administrative tasks and reporting using shell scripting, PL/SQL, or Python.
  • Collaborating with SAP Basis team to support SAP systems using Oracle, including performance tuning and backup coordination.
  • Ensuring database compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards (SOX, ISO, etc.).
  • Participating in capacity planning, infrastructure scaling, and cloud database strategy (OCI, AWS RDS, etc.).
  • Leading database initiatives such as cloud adoption, consolidation, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Providing 24x7 support for critical systems and assisting in root cause analysis for database-related incidents.
Requirements
  • Deep Oracle expertise, including high availability architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP-Oracle integration or collaboration with SAP Basis teams.
  • Strong background in Oracle database technologies.
  • Experience with automated backups and recovery strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
