At IIT Bombay, a premier educational institution, we are on the lookout for a visionary leader to head our Centre for Capital Markets.

The successful candidate will lead our strategic initiatives, fostering education and research in financial markets, fintech, and quantitative finance.

Job Purpose

  • The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing our academic and operational programs, driving impactful outcomes through interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • The ideal candidate should possess experience in academia, research management, or the financial services industry, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    1. Develop and execute our long-term vision, aligning it with our Centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.
    2. Design and implement programs that promote collaboration between academia and industry, driving innovation in financial markets.
  2. Education and Research Program Management:
    1. Support faculty-led research projects, ensuring high-quality publications in financial markets and related areas.
    2. Oversee the organization of training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses, enhancing our Centre's visibility.
  3. Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
    1. Build partnerships with key stakeholders, including financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
    2. Organize seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts, fostering knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.
  4. Operational Oversight:
    1. Manage the day-to-day administration of our Centre, including budgeting, reporting, and resource planning.
    2. Supervise support staff, interns, and research associates, ensuring seamless operation of our programs.
  5. Communication and Outreach:
    1. Enhance our Centre's online and offline presence, maintaining an active website and engaging with key stakeholders.
    2. Represent our Centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings, promoting our mission and values.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academia, research institutions, regulatory bodies, financial services companies, or relevant organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working with academic institutions or research centres.
  • Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement.
