Business Analyst Job Description

As a skilled Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in driving business success by identifying and prioritizing process improvements. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing RICEF specifications to complete custom development;

  • Configuring and deploying ERP applications and business processes;

  • Translating user requests into application system solutions;

  • Analyzing system user requirements to define and design system configuration, enhancements, and modifications;

  • Staying current with new technologies especially within the SAP areas;

  • Building strong internal external stakeholder relationships;

  • Leading critical thinking with constituents to determine best business practices;

  • Identifying problems and researching alternatives through testing and consulting with peers;

  • Preparing presentations, gaining consensus from client and implementation team, and implementing solutions;

  • Designing test plans, executing test scenarios, validating test data, and documenting test results;

  • Supporting business process testing of the application prior to end-user acceptance testing;

  • Participating in end-user acceptance testing;

  • Managing projects of small to medium size and scope;

  • Performing project management and detailed analysis of business practices, processes, and scenarios;

  • Redesigning procedures to suggested best business practices in concert with SAP functionality;

  • Supporting projects are delivered on time and on target of budgets;

  • Participating in cross-functional teams to explore process improvement initiatives, measure results, and refine processes to achieve business objectives;

  • May work on support and integration of non-SAP applications or systems;

  • Maintaining accuracy of helpdesk database of reported problems and participating in resolution;

  • Working in multidisciplinary teams to define and design complex processes and procedures for the configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP and related application systems;

  • Participating in the creation and enforcement of IT software standards and procedures;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four year university degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years business analyst work experience or relevant post-secondary education;

  • Experience using SAP, requires understanding of business practices and experience developing business design documentation;

  • Experience with those of following technologies which directly relate to role is a plus: database management, report design, SQL experience, use case requirements for a multi model one-account, or financial system configuration of CODA and CCH;

  • Project management familiarity desired;

  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups including managers, and subject matter experts to communicate new ideas/issues;

  • Must be very detail orientated, be able to plan and work flexibly to a deadline, and have strong analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Must be able to travel periodically to customer sites;
