Structural Engineering Leadership Position

The Senior Structural Engineer role is a leadership opportunity that requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of junior engineers. This position involves managing structural engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery of engineering designs, plans, and documents within quality and cost parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of junior structural engineers, coordinating with appointed consultants as needed.
  • Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and performance reviews for the structural team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Project Management & Execution:

  • Manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance checks, and risk assessments for ongoing projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

Structural Design & Analysis:

  • Lead and review the development of structural design for buildings, retaining walls, and other structures, ensuring compliance with international and local standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering calculations, load assessments, and finite element analysis using software tools, such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, and RCDC.
  • Validate design assumptions and methodologies against applicable international and local standards, optimizing structural systems and materials where possible.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders on structural matters, providing expert advice and guidance as needed.
  • Participate in design charrettes, pre-construction meetings, and construction progress meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management through appointed consultants, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in structural engineering, preferably in leadership roles, demonstrating a track record of success and growth.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in structural analysis software, such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, and RCDC.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams towards common goals.
