The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing scalable Big Data infrastructure for global-scale digital map-making.
  • Building and testing statistical and machine learning models to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Acting as an expert and advocate for data-driven approaches within the organization.

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics, with a focus on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in related fields.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab, SAS, SQL, shell script, etc.
  • Knowledge of big data processing tools like Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
