Job Overview

A Structural Analysis Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of complex facilities in the oil and gas industry. This position involves comprehensive design, analysis, and management of structures to guarantee their safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Engineering
    • Develop advanced structural designs for both reinforced concrete and steel structures, including pipe racks, platforms, foundations, and buildings.
    • Conduct thorough structural analysis and simulation using software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or ABAQUS.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of designs and resolve conflicts efficiently.
    • Provide technical support to project managers by reviewing vendor bids and material requisitions.
  • Project Management and Coordination
    • Lead civil and structural aspects of projects from conceptualization to execution.
    • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards, including API, AISC, and ASME.
    • Manage project schedules, budgets, and change requests related to the civil/structural scope of work.
  • Integrity and Maintenance
    • Conduct structural assessments and inspections of existing facilities to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
    • Develop and implement inspection programs to monitor the health of assets and ensure optimal performance.
  • Field and Construction Support
    • Perform site visits and inspections to verify construction activities comply with design specifications.
    • Provide on-site technical guidance and address construction queries effectively.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience in high-risk industries, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or energy.
  • Project Experience: Proven track record in greenfield and brownfield projects, covering all phases from conceptualization to commissioning.

Technical Expertise

  • Analysis and Design: Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles, including fatigue, seismic, and blast-resistant design.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced user of structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or ABAQUS.

Personal and Interpersonal Skills

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical issues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within integrated teams and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
