We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee program services and tour leader training in South India and Sri Lanka, based in New Delhi. This role involves:

Main Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for hiring, training, and driving performance of Trip leaders who lead Senior Americans on land tours in South India and Sri Lanka.
  • Report directly to the Country Manager India.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in hiring, training, coaching, and managing individual and team performances (Travel sector is an advantage).
  • A strong and engaging leader who is flexible, analytical, creative, independent, and highly organized.
  • Well known about South India and Sri Lanka.
  • Proven ability to motivate people while building relationships based on trust, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • General administrative skills including working knowledge with databases and Microsoft Office- Word & Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using feedback models.
  • Demonstrated success in making tough decisions and taking calculated risks.
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language.
  • Confidence in public speaking and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hire and train Trip Leaders based on their fit with Company Values (skills and experience are secondary).
  • Develop hiring and training plans to staff all departures with high-performing Trip Leaders.
  • Lead Trip Leader meetings and training sessions in office environments and on-road trip simulations.
  • Develop individual training plans for newly hired Trip Leaders.
  • Drive achievement of Regional Excellence Goals through:
  • Live coaching of Trip Leaders via phone calls, video conferences, and in-person interactions.
  • Ride along with Trip Leaders during tours to support performance.
  • Plan and lead annual trainings and mini-trainings in South India and Sri Lanka to support the Trip Leader team in achieving excellence goals.
  • Assign Trip Leaders based on past performance and company needs.
  • Interact regularly with travelers onsite.
  • Offer 24/7 emergency support for all Trip Leaders.
  • Manage all administrative tasks while on the road and in office:
  • Analyze passenger quality reports and comments to develop coaching plans for Trip Leaders.
  • Create and distribute monthly newsletters to Trip Leaders.
