Job Description:

The Navigation Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of navigation systems on board vessels. This involves implementing or monitoring actions to meet technical and regulatory requirements, as well as collaborating with partners to ensure operational condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess navigation systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance system performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure compliance with international rules and regulations
  • Monitor vessel repairs and maintenance to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions
  • Provide feedback and challenge repair proposals from partners or vendors to ensure operational availability
  • Contribute actively to experience feedback, lessons learned from navigation systems to improve reliability
  • Maintain up-to-date databases of radio and navigation systems on board and discuss optimal lifecycle of navigation systems with expert teams
