Vedanta Aluminium Business, a global leader in aluminium production, is seeking a skilled professional to lead the mine planning function in its coal operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize resource utilization, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining accurate resource models to inform mine planning decisions
  • Conducting pit optimization studies to maximize resource extraction
  • Preparing detailed project proposals (DPRs) for mining blocks
  • Creating and managing mining plans that balance operational and statutory requirements
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary clearances and approvals

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong academic record, with a minimum of 60% throughout education
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in similar roles
  • Proficiency in project planning and tracking tools, such as MS Project, Primavera, and Auto-CAD
