Lead Audio Mixer Job Description

The lead audio mixer will oversee the creation of high-quality mixes that meet client specifications within agreed deadlines.

This role involves working on mixes to meet client's audio quality expectations. The incumbent will also identify and troubleshoot audio anomalies, report them back to the project team, and communicate with schedulers and account coordinators to provide updates on project status.

The ideal candidate should be able to participate in process improvement initiatives and brainstorming sessions. They should also guide and mentor junior team members in driving quality improvements, contribute to team goals by working collaboratively, and work on audio QCs, conforms, and other workflows as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting client's audio quality expectations
  • Identifying and troubleshooting audio anomalies
  • Communicating with schedulers and account coordinators
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives
  • Guiding and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to team goals
  • Working on audio QCs, conforms, and other workflows

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Avid Pro Tools software & hardware, including Avid control surfaces
  • Prior experience or exposure in working on Dolby Atmos workflows
  • Good understanding in mixing content related to Broadcast, OTT, and Theatrical standards
  • Ability to work with audio equipment like pre-amps, microphones, and audio interfaces
  • Strong technical understanding of digital audio concepts
  • Prior experience in dubbing workflows including dialogue editing and cleanup tools
  • Excellent communication skills and command of Microsoft Windows systems, Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google workspace
