Cloud Database Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to design, implement, and maintain complex data systems that support millions of customers with Cloud Native principles and best practices. This includes ensuring highly available, secure, performant, and scalable database systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on development and operational experience with Postgres (AWS Aurora Postgres) and a deep understanding of AWS services, including cloud hosting and migration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement complex data systems
- Maintain high availability, security, performance, and scalability
- Plan and deploy database infrastructure
- Resident expert in Aurora PostgreSQL database performance and scalability
- Contribute to infrastructure changes to AWS
- Manage complex data replication environments
- Engage in on-call for production systems
- Contribute to major system upgrades and deployment automation
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field
- 8+ years of hands-on development and operational experience with Postgres (AWS Aurora Postgres)
- Experience with AWS Data Migration Service
- Extensive performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning experience
- Hands-on knowledge of hosting on cloud
- Experience with any one of the programming languages for DevOps automation: Java/Python/Shell
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Splunk and Wavefront
