Sr Design Manager HVAC Job Description

As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for high-rise residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

Our ideal candidate is an innovative and creative thinker with a strong background in HVAC design. They should possess excellent technical skills, including ASHRAE/ISHRAE standards knowledge, and be well-versed in various software tools like Revit and CAD.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • ASHRAE/ISHRAE standards knowledge for designing HVAC systems
  • HVAC design responsibility for the project
  • Heating and cooling needs calculation
  • HVAC system design
  • New products, technology, and design improvements proposal with feasibility study
  • Tech-commercial evaluation of options with recommendation
  • Energy-saving and environment-friendly design and product proposal
  • Ventilation requirements calculation
  • Budgetary costs determination for heating and cooling systems and detailed estimates preparation
  • Collaboration and coordination with architects and other discipline engineers during heating and cooling system design
  • Arch and structural drawings study and understanding
  • Detailed input to junior engineer/drafting engineer for quality drawing preparation
  • Monitoring progress and quality of drawings in Revit and CAD till GFC stage
  • List of requirements/discrepancies in arch/structural drawings preparation and informing architects within 2 working days after receiving drawings
  • Concept design based on final arch drawings
  • Sanction documents preparation as per codes and local norms
  • Design review meetings attendance
  • Concept design signoff before proceeding to detail design
  • Design brief report preparation
  • Detail design as per approved concept and scheme
  • Drawing checking along with checklist
  • Drawings submission as per commitments
  • HVAC duct routes and equipment layouts preparation in Revit/BIM
  • Duct routes detailing, BOM preparation in Revit/BIM
  • All HVAC drawings preparation using REVIT/BIM software
  • BOQ/estimate/technical specification/approved make preparation along with takeoff sheets
  • Tender drawings, specifications, BOM preparation for floating tenders
  • Tenders technical evaluation and rating/recommendation of vendors
  • Quality checks and inspections at site during different stages of construction
  • LEED/IGBC certification obtainment for the building
  • Shop drawing and technical data sheet review
  • Design materials and drawings documentation maintenance
  • Handing over inspection as per requirements
  • Specialized software usage for creating design and drawings of products
  • Equipment manual/maintenance booklet preparation for site team
  • As-built drawings development with in-house team
