Job Title: Academic Leader

The Director of the GITAM School of Law is a visionary leader responsible for driving the academic, administrative, and strategic goals of the School. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record in teaching, research, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement the School's strategic vision, aligned with the university's overall mission and objectives.
    • Drive initiatives to enhance the School's national and international reputation in legal education and research.
    • Promote an inclusive, dynamic, and forward-thinking academic environment that fosters collaboration and innovation.
  • Academic Excellence
    • Oversee the design, development, and periodic review of curricula to ensure relevance and rigor in legal education, aligning with industry needs and trends.
    • Foster an innovative learning environment leveraging technology and pedagogy to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
    • Promote a culture of academic excellence through faculty development, student engagement, and community outreach.
  • Research and Development
    • Encourage and support faculty in undertaking impactful legal research that contributes to the School's reputation and academic excellence.
    • Build partnerships with industry, government, and international institutions for research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
    • Secure grants and funding to sustain and expand research activities, promoting interdisciplinary approaches and cutting-edge methodologies.
  • Administration and Operations
    • Supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient management of resources and adherence to academic policies and procedures.
    • Lead the recruitment, mentoring, and evaluation of faculty and administrative staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
    • Prepare and manage the School's annual budget, prioritizing resource allocation and optimization.

    • Establish strong ties with legal professionals, law firms, and judiciary to enhance industry relevance and graduate employability.
    • Foster internships, placements, and career development opportunities for students, promoting experiential learning and skill-building.
