Position Overview

Nature-Based Solutions Specialist

This role focuses on leading the development of greenhouse gas accounting methodologies for nature-based solutions projects, emphasizing blue carbon, soil organic carbon, enhanced weathering, and biochar applications.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop advanced greenhouse gas accounting methodologies to quantify carbon sequestration and emission reduction benefits in NBS projects.
  • Analyze technical feasibility studies to identify opportunities for nature-based interventions and prioritize them effectively.
  • Create detailed project proposals, reports, and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and investors/funding agencies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented NBS projects using metrics and indicators to assess environmental and socio-economic impacts.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, ecology, climate science, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in GHG accounting, carbon methodologies, and implementing NBS or related environmental projects.
  • Detailed understanding of blue carbon, soil organic carbon, biochar, and other carbon sequestration techniques.
  • Proficiency in GHG accounting standards and tools such as IPCC guidelines, Verra, Gold Standard, or other relevant frameworks.
