Job Title: Mainframe Tester

  • We are seeking a skilled mainframe tester to join our team.
  • This is a unique opportunity for individuals looking to develop their testing skills in the mainframe environment.
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To create test cases and execute them on the mainframe system.
  • To analyze logs and identify any issues or errors.
  • To prepare test data according to test requirements.
  • To participate in STLC Lifecycle (Software Testing Life Cycle) or Agile methodology and prepare Test closure reports/SIGNOFF for Testing.
  • To contribute towards training programs in practice.

Requirements:

  • Should have 6+ years of experience in testing life cycle processes, including creating test cases, data, and execution as per requirements/design.
  • Should have good knowledge of editing JCL or creating JCL to submit test batch jobs.
  • Should be aware of TSO/ISPF commands in Mainframe.
  • Should have good knowledge of analyzing logs in Spool for Abended jobs and providing the root cause of the issue for further analysis to the Development/support team.
  • Should be able to edit Mainframe files using Layouts/Copybooks using Fileaid to modify data according to testing requirements.
  • Should be able to verify databases in DB2 or output files to verify outputs.
