Job Title: Program Associate, Literacy Field

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely, efficient, and well-coordinated implementation of our Literacy program across the state.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our Literacy program design to effectively oversee its implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, efficiency, and program guidelines for quality execution.
  • Regularly visit program schools to monitor implementation and interact with teachers and headmasters.
  • Analyze data to identify issues and develop correlations, flagging them for discussion.
  • Supervise data entry, compilation, and tracking of budget management.
  • Lead online and offline trainings for teachers and field staff, facilitating review meetings.
Budget and Financial Management:
  • Evaluate the effective utilization of program budgets through proper planning and activity tracking.
  • Monitor adherence to financial and procurement norms to minimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Assist in preparing the annual plan of action and budget for the Literacy program.
Social Media and External Relations:
  • Actively participate in campaigns on social media platforms.
  • Stay updated on new programs/interventions by like-minded organizations.
Government Liaison and Technical Support:
  • Advocate for policies supporting literacy at government meetings.
  • Represent our organization in various forums and advocate for foundational literacy and quality children's literature.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in education or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the education sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of foundational literacy, language, and reading practices and approaches.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
