Job Title: Chief Manger-Legal

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Manger-Legal to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in contract management, legal opinion drafting, and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and vet a wide range of contracts including supply and service agreements, EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) agreements, O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements, tender and bidding documents, HR & admin-related service contracts, transmission and utility contracts, international contracts, NDAs, MOUs, standard T&Cs etc., and financing contracts.
  • Ensure legal and commercial risk mitigation, compliance with applicable laws, and alignment with internal policies.

Legal Expertise:

  1. Provide detailed legal opinions and guidance on diverse matters including bidding strategy and compliance, Right of Way (RoW) and land acquisition, Transmission Service Agreements (TSAs), Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs), indemnity claims and contractual payment disputes.
  2. Conduct land-related legal due diligence and title verification for project development. Assess risks associated with land procurement and RoW.

Bid Review and Support:

  • Review final bid submissions for infrastructure projects. Handle bid-related legal queries and provide prompt clarifications to the bidding team to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Engage in direct negotiations with external stakeholders and counterparties. Finalize contracts by ensuring favourable legal positioning while maintaining business objectives.
Requirements:
  • A thorough understanding of contract management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, legal opinion drafting, and negotiation.
Skills:
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
