Job Description

We are seeking a skilled database administrator to manage and safeguard our company's databases.

  • Manage and maintain the company's databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
  • Conduct regular backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor system health and performance, optimizing as necessary for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the development team to improve application and database designs.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Additional Requirements

We prefer candidates with experience in:

  • Familiarity with other database technologies.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of database security measures.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Experience with database design and architectural principles.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. They should be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
