Job Description

As a Business System Analyst, you will play a critical role in facilitating the research, exploration, analysis, and documentation of business systems requirements. You will translate these requirements into detailed functional specifications for development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the research, exploration, analysis, and documentation of business systems requirements.
  • Research and explore user requirements, costs, and benefits in support of documentation required for the demand management process.
  • Responsible for analyzing business needs to identify new processes and process improvements that will meet those needs.
  • Document current business processes and models to define requirements and/or gaps.
  • Analyze detailed system factors including input/output requirements, information and paper flow, hardware, and software needs.
  • Analyze 'soft' system factors including roles, responsibilities, policy, culture, etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant technical or business work experience, with preference for experience in business areas such as accounting, finance, warehouse operations, purchasing, order management, and order fulfillment.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word. Familiarity with application integration methods, including data mapping processes.
  • Strong domain knowledge in at least one business area, with the ability to analyze and improve sophisticated processes and systems.
  • Superb communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical collaborators at all levels. Capable of presenting in various formats, from one-on-one meetings to large group presentations.
  • Meticulous, proactive, and efficient with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Able to work independently and within teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly, and to work with minimal direction.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle methodologies, and ability to support projects through all phases.
