Senior Surface Mount Technology Specialist

Our company seeks a highly skilled SMT process engineer to join our team. As an SMT process engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of our surface mount technology (SMT) line equipment used in the assembly of LED and electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs). Your role will involve setting up machines, monitoring production output, ensuring quality, and supporting preventive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate SMT line equipment, including pick and place machines, reflow ovens, screen/stencil printers, and load PCB programs and verify component data and orientation.
- Conduct first article inspections and make necessary adjustments, monitor quality of assembled boards, and perform rework or repair if needed.
- Maintain daily production records and machine logs, conduct routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting of SMT machines, ensure availability of components, feeders, and consumables on the line.
- Adhere to ESD and safety standards, coordinate with QA team on process feedback and quality improvements, participate in process improvement and cost-reduction activities.
- Strong knowledge of SMT equipment and PCB assembly process.
- Ability to read PCB layouts and BOM.
- Basic soldering and rework skills.
- Hands-on experience in machine operation and basic maintenance.
- Familiarity with IPC standards is a plus.
