About our Special Education Position

This position involves working with learners who have multiple disabilities to develop and implement individualised education plans tailored to each student's needs, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other school staff.

We are seeking a dedicated professional who can deliver customised instruction to students based on their individual needs and learning styles, adapt the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities, and work closely with general education teachers, therapists, counsellors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.

The successful candidate will possess relevant qualifications, such as a Bachelor's or P.G. Diploma or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities, and experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities. They should also be proficient in using educational technology and assistive aids and devices, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include developing individualised education plans (IEPs), delivering instructional support, adapting the curriculum, managing behaviour, collaborating with colleagues, monitoring progress, maintaining a supportive classroom environment, documenting student records, and engaging in professional development opportunities to stay updated on special education practices.

We require candidates who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with multiple disabilities, and who possess the skills and qualifications necessary to succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role.

Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies is highly desirable. The ability to communicate effectively in English and Tamil is essential for working with diverse stakeholders.
