Job Description

We are seeking a skilled backend engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable APIs and microservices using Node.js or equivalent frameworks. You will work closely with leadership and product teams to build a global-scale education platform.

You will take end-to-end ownership of features, solving challenges across scalability, system design, performance optimization, and integrations. Your contributions will have a direct impact on millions of students globally.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of professional backend development experience and strong proficiency with Node.js, Express.js, or similar frameworks. Solid understanding of web application architecture, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and caching strategies is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop Scalable APIs and Microservices: Utilize Node.js or equivalent frameworks to build high-performance and scalable APIs and microservices.
  • Optimize Backend Systems: Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of backend systems through continuous monitoring and improvement.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver seamless features and meet project goals.
  • Contribute to Architectural Decisions: Participate in architectural decisions, system design, and technology stack choices to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Desired Qualifications & Skills
  • 2+ years of professional backend development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Node.js, Express.js, or similar frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and caching strategies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and design scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Strong logical reasoning, quick learning ability, and a proactive mindset.
