Job Title: Assistant Designer

This is a key position in our design team where you will be responsible for maintaining and building design workflows that ensure all designs are delivered in line with style guides, design language, and quality standards.

  1. Maintain and track the departmental fashion calendar for the season to ensure timely delivery of designs.
  2. Research and forecast evolving fashion trends and bring those insights into the design of the portfolio to stay ahead of the competition.
  3. Monitor market changes and development to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  4. Perform daily organizational and maintenance tasks such as styling the range, embroidery development, and getting the sample made as directed.
  5. Organize all styling materials and resources for sampling to ensure efficient production.
  6. Concept, create and deliver strong design solutions and present ideas participate in key brainstorms/meetings and effectively communicate ideas through presentations.
  7. Partner with design merchant teams to achieve common goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Sampling, Pattern & Khaka's masters and Embroiders to ensure seamless execution of designs.
  • Coach and provide technical guidance to other designers on the team to enhance their skills and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Design from a recognized institution (e.g. NIFT/NID/Pearl Academy).
  • Proficiency in Photoshop/Excel/Corel Draw to create high-quality designs and presentations.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in designing an eye-catching apparel portfolio with a design team.
  • Understanding of Indian ethnic wear design sensibilities – Fabric and Styling.
