About Hunar

Hunar is a 30+ year old Kolkata-based brand specializing in premium men's ethnicwear. Known for our craftsmanship, contemporary yet traditional designs, and impeccable tailoring, we've showcased at Fashion Weeks across India for both men's and womenswear and serve clients around the globe.

Role Overview

We're looking for a creative and technically skilled Fashion Designer to join our in-house team. This role demands both traditional design expertise and the ability to translate ideas into production-ready pieces — from sketch to final garment.

Key Responsibilities


• Collection Planning
– Develop seasonal concepts, mood boards, and design directions for both men's and women's ethnicwear aligned with Hunar's brand identity.


•
Firma Cutting & Setting
– Execute and supervise precise cutting & setting to ensure perfect fit and finish.


•
Pattern Making
– Create accurate patterns for kurtas, bundis, sherwanis, saree blouses, kurtis, and other ethnic silhouettes.


•
Digital Prints & Embroidery Design
– Design placement patterns, motifs, and layouts for fabrics and embellishments.


• Collaborate with the production team to ensure design intent is achieved.


• Stay updated on trends in fabrics, embroidery techniques, and ethnicwear for both men and women.

Qualifications


• Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or related field.


• Strong skills in pattern making, garment construction, and embroidery design.


• Proficiency in developing digital prints and embroidery layouts
.


• Hands-on experience with firma cutting & setting.


• Creative eye for detail and color.


• Skilled in digital fashion design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar).


•
Bonus:
Familiarity with CLO3D or other digital garment visualization tools.


• Prior experience in ethnicwear (men's, women's, or both) is preferred.
