Procurement Strategist Role

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Strategist to join our organization. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for pursuing opportunities to improve our supply chain through strategic sourcing, vendor development, and cost reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Identification and Evaluation
    • Identify suitable suppliers based on technical requirements, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts for favorable terms and conditions.
  • Vendor Development and Improvement
    • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance their capabilities and meet our requirements.
    • Implement training, workshops, and knowledge sharing initiatives to improve supplier performance.
  • Cost Reduction and Optimization
    • Analyze the cost structure of products and identify areas for cost reduction.
    • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favorable payment terms.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives throughout the supply chain.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers through open communication and collaboration.
    • Manage supplier performance, track key metrics, and address any performance issues proactively.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
    • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
  • Knowledge of CAD, sheet metal fabrication techniques, and industry standards and compliance.
