About this role:

We're seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Analyst to support our team in generating and analyzing critical month-end variance reports. This is a crucial contractor role that requires a high level of detail and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Data sourcing and preparation: Extract, transform, and prepare financial data from various systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency for reporting.
  • Report and dashboard development: Design, build, and maintain comprehensive financial variance reports and interactive dashboards. This includes views like overall summaries, category breakdowns, and detailed variance analyses.
  • Advanced data analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of financial data, identify variances, and support reconciliation efforts. This includes capturing data snapshots for historical comparison.
  • Stakeholder support: Collaborate with project managers and other teams to understand reporting needs, provide insights, and ensure reports facilitate effective decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial reporting, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Proven ability to work with large datasets from financial systems.
  • Expertise in data extraction and manipulation using SQL.
  • Strong experience developing reports and dashboards with strategy tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts, forecasting, and project accounting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
