Crypto Expertise
  • Conducting customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk entities, including politically exposed persons (PEPs), and businesses operating in crypto-related activities.
  • Investigating transactions to identify potential risks related to mixers, tumblers, darknet markets, and high-risk jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in using Chainalysis, TRM Labs, and Gemini for wallet clustering, transaction tracing, exposure risk scoring, address screening, smart contract analytics, and fraud detection.
  • Screening wallets, counterparties, and entities against OFAC, UN, EU, and FATF watchlists.
  • A strong understanding of FinCEN, FATF, SEC, FCA, and MAS crypto compliance frameworks.
  • Drafting and submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for regulatory reporting.
  • Providing insights on crypto-specific typologies, including DeFi exploits, NFT wash trading, and stablecoin risks.
  • Working with internal fraud teams, law enforcement, and regulators to investigate and mitigate crypto financial crimes.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Due Diligence & Enhanced Due Diligence
  • Conducting CDD/EDD for crypto customers, including individuals, exchanges, OTC desks, and institutional clients.
  • Assessing the source of wealth and source of funds (SOW/SOF) for crypto-related transactions.
  • Verifying wallet addresses, transaction histories, and counterparties for potential illicit activity.
  • Utilizing Chainalysis Reactor/TRM Labs to investigate high-risk wallet interactions.
Crypto Transaction Monitoring & Risk Detection
  • Monitoring real-time crypto transactions for suspicious patterns using Gemini, Chainalysis KYT, and TRM Labs.
  • Detecting and analyzing trends in illicit activities, such as mixing services, cross-chain swaps, and sanction evasion techniques.
Investigations & Reporting
  • Conducting blockchain forensics on crypto currency to track fund flows.
  • Filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) / Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing cases.
Sanctions & Adverse Media Screening
  • Screening crypto wallet addresses and counterparties against OFAC SDN, EU, UN, and other sanctions lists.
  • Conducting adverse media research on high-risk crypto businesses.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensuring compliance with FATF Travel Rule, FinCEN requirements, and global AML/CFT regulations.
  • Staying updated on crypto-related enforcement actions and emerging risks.
