We are seeking a highly motivated Urban Mobility Specialist to join our efforts in implementing sustainable and efficient urban mobility solutions.
This role requires you to develop and implement strategies for mitigating the adverse effects of urbanization, through policy frameworks and design reviews.
- Enabling Low Emission Zones
- Develop and operationalize a Low Emission Zone framework tailored for Mathura, including baseline assessment of vehicular and industrial emissions.
- Identify vehicle categories, emission thresholds, and compliance strategies for the LEZ, and propose monitoring mechanisms.
- Assess and recommend sustainable mobility solutions: EV adoption pathways, public transport electrification, NMT integration, and multimodal connectivity.
- Support roadmap preparation for EV integration across municipal transport operations (buses, freight, paratransit).
- Propose policies for encouraging clean fuels, scrappage of end-of-life vehicles, and charging infrastructure development.
- Collaborate with municipal corporation, UPPCB, RTO, traffic police, and state EV cell to ensure smooth LEZ implementation.
- Conduct consultations with local businesses, citizen groups, and transport operators to ensure successful LEZ implementation.
- Support awareness and capacity-building activities, and prepare regular progress reports for donors summarizing program activities and achievements.
Skills and Qualifications
A strong understanding of urban mobility challenges and policies is necessary for this role. Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills are required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS, R) is necessary, as well as Hindi and English fluency.
