Job Title - Risk Manager.

• Support the Chief Risk Officer in identifying, assessing, and mitigating market, credit, operational, liquidity, and regulatory risks. Ensure a proactive risk management approach to minimize potential losses.
• Implement risk strategies, support risk projects, ensure portfolio risk integration, and flag outliers for corrective action to maintain optimal risk exposure.

• Risk Identification and Assessment:
  • Analyze potential risks including market, credit, operational, liquidity, and regulatory risks through thorough examination of investment portfolios.
  • Evaluate investment portfolios to assess exposure to various risk factors, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Risk Mitigation:
  • Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and support their implementation in systems to ensure seamless execution.
  • Support the implementation of various Risk Projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to ensure risk considerations are incorporated into portfolio decisions, aligning with organizational risk appetite.
• Change Management:
  • Contribute to and support the CRO in reviewing new products, processes, and activities to ensure they align with organizational risk tolerance.
• Investment Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure that all risk management activities adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies, maintaining the highest level of compliance.
  • Review evolving regulatory changes and implement appropriate measures to maintain organizational risk posture.
• Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Develop risk models and stress-testing scenarios to measure potential impacts on the portfolio, enabling informed strategic planning.
  • Continuously monitor market conditions, investment trends, and risk exposures to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
• Operational Risk and Internal Audit:
  • Support the Chief Risk Officer in Operational Risk and Internal Audit engagements, ensuring robust governance and control frameworks.
  Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA is a plus). Academic excellence and relevant coursework are highly valued.
  • 7–10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within an investment management or financial services organization. Proven track record of managing complex risk profiles is essential.
  • Candidates with an Investments / Analytics background are suitable. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in risk management software and tools are necessary.
  • Prior experience in Wealth Management, Mutual Funds, PMS, or Alternate Investments is preferred. Adaptability and ability to navigate diverse markets are key.
  Other Details:
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using risk models, quantitative analysis, and stress testing to drive informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex risk information clearly to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools such as Bloomberg, FACTSET, Barra, etc., with ability to leverage technology to enhance risk management capabilities.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with ability to create compelling presentations and reports.
  • Strong presentation skills, with ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Report writing and documentation capabilities, with attention to detail and precision.
  • Sound knowledge of key regulations: SEBI – Wealth Managers, RIA, Mutual Funds, etc., with ability to apply regulatory expertise in practical risk management contexts.
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape applicable to both WMC and AMC in India is desirable, with ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of investment markets and ex-ante portfolio risk management techniques, to be an effective risk manager for multi-asset portfolio solutions.
  • Prior experience interacting with SEBI on risk management topics is an added advantage, with ability to build strong relationships with regulatory bodies.
