Scientific Visualizer

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Visualizer to join our team.

About the Role:

You will work closely with researchers, writers, and clients to develop visually engaging materials that effectively communicate complex scientific ideas. Your expertise in graphic design, illustration, and visual storytelling will be crucial in creating accurate and impactful visuals for various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop graphical abstracts that succinctly represent the essence of a scientific study.
  • Read and comprehend scientific manuscripts to extract key visual elements and concepts.
  • Create storyboards that outline the visual narrative, ensuring alignment with the scientific content and client objectives.
  • Generate rough sketches to illustrate initial visual concepts, collaborating closely with stakeholders to refine and finalize the visual representation.
  • Evaluate peer reviews and freelancer outputs to ensure they meet client expectations and are delivery-ready.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM fields (especially Biology/Biotechnology/Medicine/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering)
  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific visualization, communicating science and complex research into visually engaging output.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Experience in 3D design using Blender is an added advantage.
  • A solid understanding of the scientific publishing & science communication landscape.
