Scientific Graphic Designer Opportunity

Digital Media Solutions works with scientists, universities, organizations, societies, and publishers across more than 150 accounts worldwide. Through content writing and design services, we convert complex scientific ideas into engaging content and visuals tailored to different audiences.

Role Overview

As a Scientific Graphic Designer, you will combine scientific expertise with creative design skills to produce accurate and visually engaging materials. Your work includes scientific illustrations, graphical abstracts, journal cover images, infographics, posters, brochures, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop visually appealing graphical abstracts representing the essence of a scientific study.
  • Read and comprehend scientific manuscripts to extract key visual elements and concepts.
  • Create storyboards outlining the visual narrative, ensuring alignment with scientific content and client objectives.
  • Generate rough sketches illustrating initial visual concepts, collaborating closely with researchers, writers, and clients to refine and finalize the visual representation.
  • Review peers' and freelancers' outputs to ensure they meet client expectations and are delivery-ready.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Graduate/PhD degree in STEM fields (especially Biology/Biotechnology/Medicine/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering)
  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific graphic designing, communicating science and complex research into visually engaging output.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Creating 3D designs in Blender is an added advantage.
  • Experience in scientific graphic designing, medical illustrations, journal cover designs, and graphical abstracts.
  • An understanding of the scientific publishing & science communication landscape.
