Cloud Data Engineer Position

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines using cloud-based technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing scalable and efficient data pipelines using Python and cloud-native services. They will also implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to move data from diverse sources into our cloud-based data warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Python and cloud-based technologies
  • Implement ETL processes for seamless data movement
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize data engineering solutions on cloud platforms
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design effective data models
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the overall data infrastructure

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks, scripting, and automation
  • Extensive experience with distributed data processing and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with cloud-native services for data processing, storage, and analytics
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes
  • SQL and Databases: Proficient in SQL with experience in working with relational databases and cloud-based database services
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and experience in designing effective data models
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, for tracking changes in code and configurations

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
