Senior Mechanical Handling Professional

This position is responsible for the mechanical handling activities, including planning, scheduling, and conducting work that requires judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical handling tasks under general supervision, utilizing skills acquired through a graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
  • Travel globally for short-term assignments with other offices/client offices or project site facilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, averaging 7-10 years.
  • Experience in handling concepts of various equipment and packages in FPSO/Offshore facilities.
  • Problem-solving capabilities for handling related issues with inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of various handling equipment and their capabilities.
  • Understanding and reviewing package drawings, assessing handling aspects.
  • Preparing Mechanical handling study reports and presentations.
  • Participating in model review sessions, addressing material handling queries.
  • Recommending improvements for efficient and cost-effective handling procedures.
  • Hands-on knowledge in 3D review software (S3D, Aveva, NAVIS Simulate).
  • Interfacing with stakeholders and 3D designers to implement handling requirements.
  • Proactive coordination to quickly understand and resolve issues.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with Mechanical handling equipment, Deck cranes, Static equipment, Rotating equipment, Package/skid items.
