Job Title: Automation Specialist

The role of an Automation Specialist is to design, develop and implement automation solutions that meet organizational standards. The successful candidate will have expertise in creating and maintaining automated regression suites and test harnesses.

A key responsibility of the Automation Specialist will be to select areas for automation, design and implement test automation strategies, and create tools and frameworks with quality code to simplify testing scenarios.

In partnership with development teams, the Automation Specialist will work to deliver business functionality on time with required quality that meets the acceptance criteria. Additionally, they will act as a test lead, planning the work of other testing staff and assigning tasks to meet project deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing test cases and test automation suites using Python. They will also possess strong testing skills to provide guidance and assist project staff.

An important aspect of this role is reviewing and approving the work of project team members in writing scripts, expected results, test results, and defect descriptions. The Automation Specialist must ensure best practices are followed and testing activities stay on schedule.

Other responsibilities include organizing and monitoring defect management processes, focusing on building efficient solutions for Web, Services/APIs, Database testing requirements, and participating in internal/cross team meetings, project scoping, functional reviews, test specifications, technical reviews for assigned projects in an Agile environment.

This role requires excellent understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Processes and Continuous Testing Methodologies. The Automation Specialist will actively participate in functional, system, and regression testing activities, capture quality assurance data and metrics, estimate and perform risk analysis for quality delivery, and utilize Agile Practitioner principles.

Requirements:

  • Software testing experience in all phases of testing including test planning, test execution, and test closure.
  • Excellent understanding of QA and testing methodologies, best practices.
  • 6+ years of experience as an Automation QA Tester.
  • Must have skills in Python for test automation.
  • Experience of working with SOAP and REST service and understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks preferred.
  • Experience using SQL to query databases required.
  • Experience with test data management techniques.
  • Experience with change management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong English proficiency level (B2) is required.
  • Candidate must undergo customer and project interviews.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology-related field.
