Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer Role

We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team of quality assurance automation engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality through thorough testing and quality assurance.

As a senior quality assurance automation engineer, your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and executing automated tests using industry-standard tools and frameworks. You will work closely with development teams throughout the software development life cycle to capture additional test scenarios and acceptance criteria covering both functional and non-functional requirements.

  • You will collaborate with business analysts and product managers to translate functional specifications into thorough test cases and defining integration and regression tests aligned with product release cycles.
  • Designing, developing manual and automation tests using industry-standard automation tools and frameworks.
  • Executing manual and automated tests, analyzing results, and logging detailed reports for any bugs found into the defect tracking system.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in quality engineering, mentoring junior QA engineers, determining best practices, and promoting them across the team and organization.
  • Providing timely and accurate reports to business stakeholders and helping them ascertain the severity and priority of reported issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for automating test cases, workflows, and implementing automation solutions and analyzing results.
  • Analyzing current test processes, performing gap analysis, and driving improvements.
  • Ensuring test repositories are kept up-to-date by adding and updating tests, ensuring compliance from team members.
  • Ensuring test management procedures are followed and taking corrective actions where needed.
  • Helping in determining best practices and promoting them across the team and organization.
  • Participating in UAT by assisting end-users in troubleshooting, replicating, and facilitating resolution for issues found during testing, and validating any fixes required.
  • Facilitating coaching and training for non-QA team members regarding quality processes.
  • Demonstrating willingness to work on your craft and take initiative in learning new skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in hands-on manual and automation testing of enterprise products using Selenium.
  • Must have scripting/programming experience (C#).
  • Understanding of web applications, REST APIs, and databases.
  • Experience in developing and executing maintainable manual/automation tests for acceptance, functional, regression test cases.
  • Experience in defining quality metrics to measure product quality.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate formal test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and use cases across globally distributed teams.
  • Experience in defining and implementing quality processes throughout the release cycle.
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues, problem resolution, and risk analysis for product deployment.
  • Experience in training team members on quality standards and processes.
  • A strong problem solver with an excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • An eye for detail and the capability to empathize with the product user's perspective.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with a 'can-do' attitude, growth mindset towards learning new skills, and willingness to take ownership and accountability.

Bonus Points

  • Experience as QA lead on medium to large-sized projects.
  • Experience with running and analyzing data from automated tests.
  • Experience with tools like JMeter, Microsoft Playwright, etc. for developing stress and automated tests.
  • Prior programming and scripting experience with .Net/Python/Java.
  • Relevant certifications if any.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
