Job Title:

Sr. Interior Design Manager – Hospitality

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create compelling spatial concepts for rooms and public areas from client briefs.
  • Approve layout plans, guest flow, and functional adjacencies while ensuring hospitality brand standards are met.
  • Review drawings including plans, elevations, joinery details, and MEP coordination to ensure quality.
  • Manage Room Data Sheets, Door/Hardware Schedules, and Mock-Up Evaluations with diligence.
  • Lead design audits and issue Design Basis Reports to drive improvements.
  • Manage room matrices and furniture take-offs effectively.
  • Oversight of spec creation using tools like DesignSpec/SpecSources to maintain accuracy.
  • Gather nomenclature, finish codes, warranty/fire rating information as required.
  • Set high-quality standards for SketchUp/Revit, Lumion/Enscape, V-Ray renderings.
  • Coach the team in setting up render scenes, materiality, lighting, and walkthroughs.
  • Maintain deliverable schedules and provide Value Engineering (VE) options without compromising scope.
  • Ensure proper documentation and version control across all files and deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture is essential.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in hospitality design, with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Experience in leading design teams and managing external vendors is necessary.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and skills in SketchUp/Revit, Lumion/Enscene/V-Ray, Photoshop, and MS Excel are required.
  • Familiarity with FF&E specs, room matrices, take-offs, and specification software is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for this role.
Nice to Have:
  • Revit-based coordination and hospitality brand rollout experience would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of sustainability guidelines, such as VOCs and lighting efficiency, is desirable.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • QC Effectiveness: Maintain major design-originated NCRs at less than 2 per phase.
  • Cost Alignment: Meet or exceed VE savings targets consistently.
  • Spec Accuracy: Ensure zero critical gaps in FF&E/specs at tender/shop drawing.
  • Team Growth: Document upskilling and CAD/render improvements regularly.
