Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented mechanical engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial in the design, verification, and technical quality of mechanical systems, particularly within material handling and automation projects, ensuring efficient and safe utilization of resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and verify conveyor layout, detail, structural drawings, schematics, and equipment orders.
  • Plan equipment layout and material flow to ensure efficient and safe utilization of resources.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and apply material handling solutions.
  • Perform a variety of calculations and prepare detailed multi-view drawings based on engineering data.
  • Support field activities by identifying safety concerns, confirming installations, and adjusting designs as needed while communicating with various stakeholders.
  • Ensure the technical quality and effectiveness of mechanical designs.
  • Deliver in-house assignments per agreed timelines and quality standards for 2D/3D CAD work.
  • Manage mechanical project elements, including planning, reporting, and overseeing execution, scope, budget, and schedule.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Mechanical and Teamcenter.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design (supports, platforms), load calculations, and load layouts.
  • Familiarity with codes such as IBC and ASCE7.
  • Proficient understanding of conveyor fundamentals and ability to follow procedures and standards in material handling systems.
  • Experience with warehouse automation technology and material handling systems.
  • Preference for candidates with detailed knowledge of conveyor parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
