Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

Overview:

The role of Financial Operations Specialist is a vital position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for recording and reporting our company's financial activities, supporting monthly and annual close processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

This position requires an individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS and be proficient in Excel, with experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle being a significant advantage.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling key balance-sheet accounts, and supporting month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and explain variances to management.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable by verifying invoice coding, processing payments and collections, and monitoring aging schedules.
  • Compile data for tax filings and coordinate with external auditors to ensure statutory compliance.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by gathering data, updating models, and analyzing cost drivers.
  • Identify process-improvement and automation opportunities; document standard operating procedures and enhance internal controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CA, CMA, or ACCA) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, audit, or a similar finance role.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is an advantage.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query).
  • Desirable: exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
