AI Engineering Leader

Take ownership of designing, deploying, and optimizing AI-powered systems to accelerate groundbreaking science in medicine, climate, and more.

  • Develop semantic search pipelines and graph-based retrieval for scalable backend systems.
  • Design and deploy APIs and services that can serve hundreds of concurrent requests.
  • Architect vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems to drive efficient data retrieval.
  • Integrate generative AI with react agents, graph agents, prompt engineering, and LLM orchestration.
  • Establish full-stack search engines from scratch for handling real-world academic workloads.

Contribute directly to the infrastructure making cutting-edge science more efficient. This is a challenging role with significant responsibility and long-term upside.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strong background in semantic search, vector databases, LLM frameworks, agent-based systems, and document retrieval.
  • Proficiency in Python for backend development with ability to build scalable APIs and services.
  • Experience deploying systems at scale, including search engines, retrieval pipelines, or embedding models.
  • Ability to design infrastructure serving hundreds of concurrent requests.
  • Skills in setting up and hosting APIs with public access while balancing speed, cost, and reliability.
  • Research-driven and pragmatic mindset with focus on measurable outcomes.
